South Korea will begin distributing cash payments to all citizens on July 21 as part of a government initiative to boost domestic spending.

According to a joint press briefing on Saturday by the ministries of finance, welfare, and the Financial Services Commission(FSC), the first round of the Lee Jae Myung government's living expense payouts, or "consumption vouchers" for the general public, will be handed out between July 21 and September 12 and will be valid until November 30.

All citizens who were residing in the country as of June 18 will be eligible for the first round, receiving a basic payout of 150-thousand won, or around 110 U.S. dollars, per person.

Members from low-income households and single-parent families will be eligible for 300-thousand won each, while recipients of basic living benefits will receive 400-thousand won each.

Residents outside the capital area will receive an additional 30-thousand won, and those in 84 cities and counties seeing a drastic population decline will get an extra 50-thousand won.

The vouchers will be provided through applicants’ credit or debit cards, in the form of prepaid cards or regional gift certificates, and can only be used within the jurisdiction of the applicant’s registered address.

and prices of all goods and services will start skyrocketing in the country shortly after...

Wah, South Korea also got cash handouts, follow the Singapore success model. Majulah PAP!!

Korean CDC vouchers

More like Tiong 粮票.

Don't use real money, instead use the coupons/vouchers allocated to you, which can only be used in specific situations.

Nothing new under the sun. The communists invented the concept, the PAP regime merely added modern refinements.

unker sam issues coupons for makan (a.k.a. fsp or snap) way back since 1939. at that time $1 coupon could buy a whole chicken plus some sides.

Should be happening after the cash handouts. SG started with cash, then progressed to vouchers. The SG cash/voucher handouts are a proven method to win votes, and the S. Korean government has caught on to it.

SINGAPORE – Singaporeans can expect more debate in the upcoming 15th Parliament, with today’s uncertain world and the need for more policies to tackle the attendant challenges, and more MPs in the House.

But this does not mean that parliamentary sittings must go on for longer, as what is important is the quality of the debate, said Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng.

Noting a trend of more parliamentary questions being filed in the previous term of Parliament, Mr Seah sounded a note of caution against having this become a numbers game.

PAP MP KPI is how many questions per session? Per month? They desperately need to meet it to keep their $16k mthly salary.
