Ukraine only considered bombing the dam when Russia still posed a threat in the Kherson direction. The Russians most likely blew the dam themselves as they were worried that the Ukrainians might cross the Dnieper and push down to the border with Crimea. If the Ukrainians did blow it up, the Russians would have ample video evidence to reinforce their claims but the explosion was never caught on tapeConnect the dots yourself.

Prigozhin is a self made Billionaire. Humans like him do not achieve such status by being a fool, but have great aptitude for animal cunning. With sanctions upon his biz & holdings in UK, & miserly cash strapped RUS refusal to send funds to pay him & his mercenary troops, thus his DEMAND & ACTIONS. Mercenaries do not go to war on loyalty or altruistic reasons, but only for cash compensation upfront dead or alive.
With military supplies from China, he figured he stood a chance to get his demands met, in a final attempt to do or die. With just mere 27,000 ragged failed undisciplined troops, it is a suicidal march against the best troops that are stationed in Moscow. It is NOT good news to the RUS leaning leadership in Belarus, NOR to its citizens. It is NOT just 27 angry & rebellious troops, but 27,000 of them. Civil war may had been averted in RUS, but it is sent instead to Belarus.
