SINGAPORE: National Development Minister and Member of Parliament for Sembawang Group Representation Constituency, Khaw Boon Wan, said work has started on fulfilling promises to his residents made during the General Election.
He listed the upcoming North South Expressway and Thomson rail network as ways that will improve connectivity in northern Singapore.
Mr Khaw was speaking at his constituency's National Day Dinner.
On housing, he said his ministry is confident of resolving the various issues and will fine-tune polices if needed.
Mr Khaw said the recent General Election showed that more people wanted debate, and he welcomed it.
He said: "But we must also be mindful that as we go down this development, this development does not go astray and end up as dysfunctional political theatre and that policies become paralysed and as a country we cannot go forward. I think that will bring a lot of harm to Singapore."
