Was Punggol East RP's territory before ? If the answer is yes, then he has the right to take back and challenge WP and PAP for it. This place is still currently 'owned' by PAP, not WP. He has a case here.

PE is a new SMC carved out of Pasir Ris GRC in GE 2011. KJ claimed that it was part of the Cheng San GRC which his father contested in 1997.
I feel that all these territorial claims based on who had contested in a particular constituency before are all bullshits.
Every party should have a right to contest anywhere they like.
But to be a credible politician, one should at least has a sense of ground sentiments. Obviously, KJ is not one to be taken seriously.

Jumping around is plainly opportunistic and harmful to not just KJ himself, but to LLL's chance of winning too.
Exactly. Nobody should demand that only a certain party "owns" a constituency. But the opposition parties should take a look at their chance of winning vis-a-vis other opposition party eyeing the same ward.
