Finally some good news today.

i dun understand why a small place can create so much smoke.

i am quite sure there are regulation on furniture and building to meet fire retardant specification. singapore is a first world country.

The fire was inevitable since the time the management stopped patrons from peeing along
the side of the building. Previously, that helped to douse any fire.

When I was much younger used to spend alot of time in the Katong area. That was when the Red House Bakery was still around. Back then my family had a membership with the Chinese Swimming Club. They were still using sea water. Remember spending weekends vising TBG, the Silver Kris 2nd hand comic place, etc.

Over the years made fewer & fewer visits until katong is now just a memory.

You will be surprise that most of these companies with those shiny shiny safety certificates everywhere in the office are those that really fuck care about fire safety deep down in their heart. The same goes for those firemen, fire safety managers, fire wardens. They are the people you would least expect not to have fire safety equipments at home.

When was that?, the sea used to come up near to the small apartment next to the club, my classmate used to lived there & there was Rose Garden!. TBG where I used to shop & buy my "little book" on aircraft's that was before Jane!

Red House Bakery, who can forget, the old weighing machine...the smell of pastries, cakes & bread..Katong Shopping Centre where I once learnt COBOL/PASCUAL on a week end, during my once computer programming crazy period!!, home of pirated softwares, Oriental Emporium... those were the time.

Usually in hotel fires, unless combustible materials are directly on fire, the danger is not from the fire but from smoke inhalation. This is becos most modern furnishings liek carpets, cushion and drapes are flame retardent, so the spread of fire is slow but give out a lot of smoke instead.

At basement was one KTV. Very wild joint. I almost got raped there! Recall Thai Village was there.
