Coronavirus has infected 2,95,041 people in India and left 2,023 dead in the last 24 hours, in a grim new record for the country.

The total number of deaths has increased to 1,82,553 after the huge one-day spike. This is the seventh straight day of over two lakh new cases in the country. India's tally of more than 1.56 crore Covid cases is the second-highest globally, behind the United States and ahead of Brazil.

PM Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday night. He said the need of the hour is to save the country from a lockdown and asked state governments to treat lockdowns only as the last resort and concentrate on micro-containment zones.

India has a very low number of cases per million. The reason why the raw numbers appear so large is because it is a land of 1.3 BILLION people.

If you look at India's cases per million it looks shocking...

However once you compare India with top 5 countries in cases per million you'll see that India is actually fine.

Just wait a couple of weeks and the numbers will start to plummet just like what happened in South Africa...

What goes up must come down. No human intervention is going to make a scrap of difference. We just have to let nature takes its course.
