Jurong West molester caught by 4 bystanders

SINGAPORE - A 27-year-old man was arrested for molesting a woman near Jurong West Street 24 on Feb 12.
On Tuesday at about 9.30 pm, the victim was sending a SMS with her mobile phone at the void deck of a residential block when the man suddenly came from behind to molest her.
The man then fled in the direction of a car park. The victim's cries for help attracted the attention of four members of the public who were playing basketball nearby.
They detained the man along Jurong West Street 24 after a chase and called the police, who arrested the man.
The suspect will be charged for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224. If convicted, he may be jailed up to 2 years; or fine and will also be liable to caning.
