Jurong-Clementi train services to be disrupted this weekend
By Mustafa Shafawi/Milton Sau | Posted: 01 September 2010 1612 hrs

SINGAPORE: Train services will not operate between Jurong East and Clementi Stations on September 4 and 5.

This is due to Land Transport Authority's modification works at Jurong East Station.

Commuters who need to travel to these areas are encouraged to plan their journey and make use of alternative transport options.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and SMRT will provide free bus bridging services to ferry commuters between Jurong East and Clementi stations.

To help tenants at the affected stations whose business will be hit by the disruption, SMRT will be giving them rental rebates.

Some tenants say they will not open for business during that period as there will be fewer customers.

The way the news report as usual is crappy, as if only 2 stations are affected. In reality, those in Boon Lay and Lakeside have no use for the MRT at all.
