It was obvious to me she hadn't use numbers correctly here. She needed to provide more numbers from different perspectives and cuts or else look for one or two charts that captures the picture honestly and meaningfully. Now she has opened the door for her detractors to truck out all sorts of other statistics that will tell a different tale."
What numbers? Numbers can be obtained from Yearbook of Statistics. She is asking the WP to come up with viable alternative - not just make noises!
It's a question that every citizen will want to ask the WP. Yes, provide free transport, free health care, cheap housing, free education - who is going to pay for them? Would you want pay much more for your income tax to support all these freebies - like in European countries or like in Australia - 30% perhaps? Would you want to pay 18% GST so that we can take free train rides or bus rides?
It appears that if the WP comes into power, it is going to raid the National Reserves to support all these freebies it bankcrupts before its 5 years tenureship is up? By then the dire consequences would be passed on to the next generation - and perhaps to the PAP government to replenish the National Reserves again. It's very tempting.
