President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has sent out a Christmas message via social media, wishing for peace among all the people of Indonesia on the birthday of Jesus Christ.

“I would like to wish all Christians a Merry Christmas. May the spirit of Christmas brings joy and peace us all,” the President tweeted on @jokowi on Friday as quoted by Tempo.co.

Jokowi is scheduled to attend Christmas celebrations in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Monday, a day after departing from his hometown, Surakarta in Central Java.

From NTT, the President will visit several places in eastern Indonesia, including the predominantly Christian Papua province, before returning to Jakarta for the New Year celebrations. (dan) ‎
