Barry Callebaut, the world’s leading chocolate and cocoa producer, together with logistics giant Maersk, has officially launched a Built-To-Suit cocoa bean warehouse in Pasir Gudang, one of the largest in Asia Pacific.
Key details of the facility:
Over 600,000 sq ft of storage space with a multi-storey design
Capacity to hold 40,000 tonnes of cocoa beans at a time
Equipped with Maersk’s real-time warehouse management system for improved tracking & visibility
Sustainable features: LED lighting + natural ventilation to reduce energy use
Strategically located near Tanjung Pelepas Port and just 1km from Barry Callebaut’s processing plant in Pasir Gudang
Industry leaders say the new warehouse will strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global cocoa map while boosting efficiency across Barry Callebaut’s integrated supply chain.
