"Job Credit" vs "Hire on Merit" - 2 faced government

I am for hiring foreigners. I have been to a few local chinese restaurant and 80 %
of the workers are from china ie Jumbo and Long Beach. They work hard
response to instruction well, have initiative and courteous. Sometime I feel
I am in Shanghai where the service is excellent. As for local singaporean
service, I have only one word to describe: terrible and lazy. I was staying in a
3.5 star hotel in hong kong last year and was surprised to find many HK youngster
( and not mainlander ) working as waiter, porter, bellboy, if in singapore no way.
We have grown spoilt and lazy

Bro, Robinsons, Mark and Spencers, Takashimaya, are all foreign owned. Asking them to hire locals first is like slapping their own face. Singaporeans are too pampered to do sales assistant job. complaining that they have to stand the whole day.
By the way, do you have a FT maid?

Singaporeans speak the language, capable of doing all these things. There is no communication issues. I don't expect Employers such Robinsons to hire Singaporeans on higher pay at times like these.

I think we need to stop giving excuses. We should also stop carrying unproductive and substandard products and services which have got away with cheap labour. Time for a shakeup.

This has always been a goverbment of double standards.
A clear example is the amendment of the penal code protect the MPs more than the citizenry.
