The fact remains .. there is a high number of infection cases in the FWs whether you test them or not... That reality cannot change.

By hiding your head in the sand doesn't hide the reality that the virus pandemic has already infected the migrant community.

Herpes, Epstein Barr, HPV etc cause widespread infection too but we don't go about testing everybody to see whether they have the infection. As is the case for Covid-19 the vast majority of those infected don't even know they have it.

All we have to do is concentrate on those that fall ill as a result of Covid-19. The rest don't matter because they are not sick.

Agree... What it shows is that the government does not have a united position on the CB measures and in particular how to handle the migrant worker 's community spread. Jo is trying to protect herself obviously by denying that the infection is no big deal. Imagine if this is the number of infection cases reported in the local community. Will she say the same ? If that is the logic, we should stop the testing and let the migrant workers roam free. It is contradictory to say it is not alarming while at the same time, confine the migrant workers to quarantine. Why waste the time and efforts to do all these wasteful activities ?

That would be the logical thing to do. They came to Singapore to help build our infrastructure. Right now all of them are enjoying a paid holiday and the sea breeze. Those who aren't sick should be back at work.

Regardless whether it is a migrant worker or a local testing positive, the infected person is living in the same community.

Unless they can guarantee that these infected foreigners will never ever mix with the local community, then we should not be alarmed indeed.

They don't understand that even with the designated infected communes that these migrant workers are quarantined, there is inevitable contacts by locals who are the health workers, food vendors, security guards and associated manpower linked to the management of these communes. These locals will and have to blend into the local society and any infection can spread from them to their families in close contact.

Why should we not be "alarmed" ? If so, then don't bother to tell us on a daily basis how many foreign workers are infected.The govt has guaranteed us that they pose no problems?
