A BANGLADESHI worker saved up over RM2mil during his 30 years of working in Malaysia, reported Sin Chew Daily.

He used the money to build a block of apartments, which he rented out back in his hometown. His story was shared on social media by a netizen.

According to the worker, whose occupation was not revealed, he made about RM15,000 a month.

He said he sent the money home gradually. After having saved up enough money, the report stated that his family bought a piece of land for RM600,000 for the construction of the block.

The netizen concerned said a hardworking Bangladeshi worker in the construction sector could earn between RM5,000 and RM6,000 a month.

Other netizens stated that most of these workers in Malaysia worked long hours with no days off.

One of them, who used to do business in Bangladesh, said that most of the people there owned homes.

“Their lives may be tough in Malaysia, but back home, they are rich,” he wrote.

I have an ex-colleague, now working in construction.
He said the company has many workers from Sarawak.
They worked O/T and easily clocked more than S$1K per month.
In a month, they saved at least RM30K.
Multiply that by their two-years contract and they returned to own double storey bungalow.

Songs boh ?

On the same note, same as our @glockman working as a karang guni man
5am to 2am next day,
Now, he owned a private land and beach in Sentosa.:whistling::thumbsup::thumbsup::smile:
