Serious Jialat! Isetan Closing Down!

Cb I almost forgot that there is Isetan in sg.
Been wondering how leepartmental stores can stay afloat in this era with ecommerce and high rentals, high logistics cost. Unless they marked up the price of the goods many folds the purchased costs.
Never close down then I worLee.

Tourists coming into Singapore do not have any intention to shop. Instead, they come here to steal, rob and selling pussy and ass holes

Where is the Great Singapore Sale?
Tourists are not drawn to the Great S'pore Sale because the listed prices are marked up so much that any so-called sale brings prices down to slightly above or the equivalent to goods back in their home countries. I bought a Superdry T-shirt in S'pore for S$79, but saw the exact same garment selling for £25 (S$42) in Oxford, UK.

The days of dept stores in SG are ending. Yaohan, Metro, Daimaru, Sogo, Robinsons etc. are gone or going.
How long more will Tangs and Takashimaya be around?
Uniqlo makes much more than dept store from less retail space. Just look at the crowd.

Cathay Cineplexes may close down all its remaining cinemas.

Its parent company mm2 Asia is considering this step as it continues struggling with millions of dollars in debt and rental arrears:

I was at Golden Village Bugis + to watch the 9:30 pm movie "F1" last month. There were less than 20 patrons in the cinema. How do cinemas survive in S'pore these days?

Do you notice the number of stores selling football jerseys closing down? Apart from unreasonably high rent, jerseys are seasonal so go out of fashion within 9 months. The quality of counterfeit shirts is also getting better, so many price conscious buyers no longer wish to spend 10 x the price of fakes on genuine jerseys.

Yes, there was one shop at IMM, not far from the long ramp escalator. I believe it's one of the victims of the Covid lockdowns.

Anyway, if you want to buy football jerseys, if you genuinely support that football club, you should buy it from the official store online. Your money goes directly to the football club instead of middlemen.

I have also heard of high SES folks flying overseas, buying shirts from the store at the actual stadium. And getting stadium tours.

Operations like Tang's own their own building and land. They are not subject to high rents

This is true. But they could have put it to better use.
I ever went to tang hq for interview next to minlaw building. The office was fanciful.
In my mind was how they kept the business going and the boss must be damn rich to blow money away.

Bro, high SES folks fly to London to watch their favourite club play at their home stadium and because they do not have season tickets, they buy luxury private box tix at $3000 per. I know, I am one of them. Of course, also buy shirts at the stadium store. Even higher SES Sinkies charter a private jet to Bilbao to watch their team play in Europa League Final. I didn't go with them, but I know the bunch of them.

I believe that Premier Football has closed all its outlets except for the one at Suntec City. The stadium jerseys cost around £78 each in UK from the official store. I was at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium official store last December where the fan version of the Real Madrid home jersey was retailing for 150 EUR = S$224!
