The days of dept stores in SG are ending. Yaohan, Metro, Daimaru, Sogo, Robinsons etc. are gone or going.
How long more will Tangs and Takashimaya be around?
No more department store can survive due to the high rental. The days of dept stores in SG are ending. Yaohan, Metro, Daimaru, Sogo, Robinsons etc. are gone or going.

Many people go to brick and mortar stores only to try on the clothing and shoes before placing their orders online.Just reopen as whore houses or gambling dens, going back to the good early days of Sinkiepoor.
Tangs diversified in hotels and commercial buildings. The 2 nephews own a chain of hotels in NZ and also commercial office/shopping centres in Little IndiaThe days of dept stores in SG are ending. Yaohan, Metro, Daimaru, Sogo, Robinsons etc. are gone or going.

Tangs Dept Store may soon be converted to smaller retail shops leased by their tenants.Tangs diversified in hotels and commercial buildings. The 2 nephews own a chain of hotels in NZ and also commercial office/shopping centres in Little India
The demise of Robinsons as a physical dept store was a shock to many of us who grew up in the 1970s and 80s.OG still going very strong, it has an aunty cloth dept attracting from neighouring countries aunties
The goods at Mustafa Centre are not that cheap if we do our homework before shopping over there.Mustafa still alive.
Are you implying that there is a lot of shoplifting at Isetan Tampines which has led to its impending closure?Calm your tits down, it's only the store at the Ten-penis town mall. Isetan Scotts is still thriving. I'm surprised they opened an outlet there. Ten-penis has a lot of Malays. And not too many Jap expats where their kids study at the Japanese primary school located in Changi/Tanah Merah.

It is happening in Mustafa Centre now.I grew up with Emporium. Its groceries were fresher and its toy department was amazing. Too bad it couldn't compete with NTUC Fuckprice, which had the PAP regime's patronage. Back in the day a lot of shenanigans happening at NTUC Fuckprice supermarkets: aircon leaking from the ceiling, expired products on the shelves, price tag sticker anyhow paste, products with missing parts inside them, stupid jingles always getting played every 5-10 minutes on the audio system.
