As part of the User Experience team, she is instrumental in the development of the Jewel Experience for all guests. Having been in her role since 2017 (way before Jewel opened!), Charmaine enjoys planning and designing new initiatives to delight Jewel’s guests. Due to the size of Jewel’s operations, Jewel works with various service partners and Charmaine appreciates her vital role of uniting these different partners to create the sparkling Jewel Experience.
The recent closure of Jewel was a surprise for Charmaine and her team as there was no COVID-19 case at Jewel, but thanks to the experience gleaned from last year’s Circuit Breaker, the team was able to quickly swing into action to prepare for the closure. During this period, Charmaine also worked closely with the different service partners, who continued to engage their staff, and kept up morale through frequent check-in conversations, and even virtual activities such as yoga! ‍♀️‍♂️

“Pre-COVID, we used to have programmes that allowed our Hosts to display their talents and hobbies to create refreshing experiences for our guests. These included dance performances, roving magicians and balloon sculpting, as captured in these photographs taken during past events.

While such activities are currently suspended, our Hosts will continue to delight the guests in other ways when we reopen. Your encouraging words to show appreciation will go a long way in motivating the team especially in these challenging times!”
