The world has gone too right for the last few decades - after Reagan and Thatcher came into the scene. The left adopted the bs from Reagan ( triple-down economics didn't work). Left-wing parties like UK's Labour and Canada's Liberals are more right-wing than they used to.
People are protesting against right-wing policies but dumb as they are, they think the originator of those policies are the current bunch of pseudo left-wing governments.
While the people go after the governments that have some slant of progressiveness, the evil right-wingers sit back and enjoy the lynching while helping themselves with the looting of people's wealth (the rich are getting richer while the others are getting poorer).

I think the progressives should step aside and let the right-wingers take reign of government and face the wrath of the people. Don't take the rap for the right-wingers and let people finally taste the full force of right-wing policies.

Low taxes means the loss in public services ...let the people decide if that is truly what they want.

Be it left or right,,,the problem are the oligarchs. The right or left wing politicians always give the benefits to the rich at the expense of the working and middle class. that is why in terms of proportion of income the rich pay much less than the working and middle classes. And look at all governments,,they always give tax breaks to the rich and MNCs etc....whereby the biggest beneficiaries should be to middle and working class. They will spend the most whereby the rich just use all sorts of regulations etc to pay less. However the middle and working class are always taxed because they are the easiest to tax. In Kiwiland,,,the average wage is about 10 bucks and hour and they have to pay tax,,,for ang mor lands,,,10 bucks per hour is poverty level existance but they get hardly any benefits. And when these working class people get 2 jobs,,they get double whammy tax,,,,whereas the rich etc just use laws and regulations to minimise the tax. One positive step towards helping the working and middle class is to give them the same tax breaks as the rich,,,,that way the system will be more fair,,,but hey,,the rich wont want that would they?
The west needs to re-orientate towards the Forgotten People,,,,they are the working and middle classes. The more appropriate term should be the working poor,,,In the past, the conservatives or right wing policies were always geared towards to working and middle classes. True conservatives believe in safe guarding these forgotten people because they are the back bone of society and keeps society from falling apart. Now,,,policies are aimed towards taxing this middle class etc to give to the trailer park trash,,,and of course give the rich a tax break,,,,

There is a fracture within definitions. Socially the west has leaned too far left with liberal immigration and feminism. Economically the US is run by wall Street capitalism.

Both dimensions are tied but their relationship is not easily correlated. This combination is, however, the worst case scenario

Ask him stay here longer than 3 days then report results.

You are absolutely right.

This is the typical response from transient tourists whose very short stay only brings them to Orchard Road, Garden By The Bay, Changi Aiport and the Mandai Zoo, whilst staying at the top hotels.

Ask them to commute daily from Yishun to the CBD for a week and then ask them again.

What do Aussies think of their politicians?

Charis Changnews.com.au
GetUp is asking Australians to chose a hard-right MP they want booted from parliament ahead of this year’s federal election.

A website has been launched where Australians can choose up to three pollies they want targeted by the left-wing lobby group.

Options include Prime Minister Scott Morrison as well as Peter Dutton, Tony Abbott, Kevin Andrews, Christian Porter, Nicolle Flint, Greg Hunt, Josh Frydenberg, Barnaby Joyce and Alan Tudge.

GetUp is gearing up to take on the MPs after a survey of its members found 92 per cent wanted the organisation to target politicians standing in the way of progress on the issues they cared about.

The website lists the record of each of the politicians and their stance on issues like climate change, Manus Island and Nauru, coal-fired power and gay conversion therapy.

GetUp national director Paul Oosting said people were fed up with politicians blocking meaningful action on the issues they cared about and its members had already committed to thousands of hours of volunteering in order to make a lasting impact on election day.

“This election effort is going be huge,” he said. “The out of touch, anti-progress MPs in parliament right now are on borrowed time.

“There’s a huge groundswell of enthusiasm to turf out anyone with right-wing views on climate change, refugees and on social issues like marriage equality. We want people from all over the country to tell us who’s the worst of a bad bunch.”

A number of small groups have already emerged to campaign against former prime minister Tony Abbott’s re-election in his safe seat of Warringah and in November about 700 people attended a GetUp information session dedicated to ousting Mr Abbott from the seat.

The groups have been encouraged by the victory of independent Kerryn Phelps in former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull’s electorate of Wentworth.

Environmental group The Sunrise Project has also donated $495,000 to GetUp to ensure climate change is the number one issue at the next federal election and a recent survey of GetUp members show it’s one of their top concerns.

A record 23,000 GetUp members took part in the 2019 Federal Election Survey, which along with voter conversations, will help determine GetUp’s campaign priorities and strategy for the year ahead.

The top five issues for respondents were:

• urgent action to address climate change and stopping Adani’s Carmichael mine

• supercharging the transition to renewable energies like solar and wind

• immediate evacuation of all refugees and people seeking asylum held on Manus Island and Nauru

• ensuring Medicare, schools and other essential services are adequately funded

• protecting ABC and SBS funding, independence and integrity
