Japan woke up to a terrifying text alert

Around 5:58 a.m. local time, North Korea fired a missile over Hokkaido, Japan, and shortly thereafter, the country's J-Alert warning system kicked in and delivered the chilling news to the smartphones of millions residents of Japan.

One Twitter user based in Japan posted an image of the alert that came in, which read, "A missile was fired from North Korea. Please evacuate to a sturdy building or basement."

In a later tweet, the same user posted a follow-up message from the alert system which read, "A North Korean missile passed over this area. If you find suspicious things, please never touch them."

Because the launch occurred so early in the morning, either before most were awake, or while many were getting ready to leave for work or school, there wasn't much chatter on social media at first. But soon after, the term "missile," written in Japanese katana (ミサイル) began trending worldwide, indicating that the planet's internet-connected pulse had begun registering the unusual event.

Over the past couple of decades, it's become fairly common for North Korea to lob missiles into the Sea of Japan, off the western coast of Japan itself. But its provocations don't usually include missiles that actually pass over the country.

In light of the recent war of words between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, some are viewing this latest missile launch as an escalation that could have dire consequences if the U.S. and Japan decide to retaliate.

However, even these close calls aren't without precedent. In 1998 and 2009, Japan experienced similar North Korean missile launch flyovers that both landed missile debris in the Pacific Ocean off the eastern coast of Japan.

Whatever the next move is from either country, these J-Alert mobile texts — the same that delivered frequent warnings during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, which resulted in major aftershocks, tsunamis, and the Fukushima nuclear disaster — will likely keep Japan on edge for at least the rest of the week.

RESIDENTS in Japan have been told to seek shelter or lie on the ground in the event of North Korea missile strike in a terrifying new nationwide television broadcast.

The half a minute announcement also states people should stay away from windows and protect their heads if they are inside a building should a missile be fired in the direction of Japan from North Korea.

The broadcast also confirmed, in the event of a missile attack, the Japanese government will inform members of the public though speakers across the country, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

Between now and July, 43 television stations across Japan will broadcast the announcement while 70 Japanese newspapers will publish written instructions.

The announcement following an increase in tensions after North Korea conducted another missile test.

Kim Jong-un was pictured grinning following the test while another photo showed a huge crowd of soldiers cheering next to the surface-to-air missile launcher.

The missiles are the fourth new system the hermit state has tested this year.

Japan is the only country to have suffered nuclear war after the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the last days of World War 2.

This killed 250,000 with many more dying of cancer because of radiation.

Japanese residents appear to be growing more worried about the increasing risk of a missile attack and in April it was reported that sales of nuclear bomb shelters had surged in Japan.

A small Japanese company that specialises in building nuclear shelters has revealed its orders have gone through the roof as terrified civilians prepare for the worst.

Oribe Seiki Seisakusho, based in Kobe, western Japan, has received eight orders in April alone –compared with six orders during the whole of a typical year.

The business has also sold out its stock of 50 Swiss-made air purifiers, which are said to keep out radiation and poisonous gas, and is trying to get more, according to company director Nobuko Oribe.

North Korea fires apparent land-to-ship missiles, fourth test in a month
A downloadable doomsday pamphlet is now available on the island nation’s civil defence website advising what to do should nuclear war break out.

Called “Protecting Ourselves against Armed Attacks and Terrorism,” it outlines emergency measures in the event North Korean missiles are fired at the country.

It bears similarities to the creepy Protect and Survive documents issued in Britain and Northern Ireland during the early 1980s following the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan.

It urges people to take shelter indoors behind thick walls to avoid blast injuries but also radiation.

Underground shopping malls would be an ideal place to take cover, it urges.

Japanese media outlet NHK has apologized for issuing a false report of a North Korean missile launch Tuesday evening local time.
An apology was issued on the Japanese language version of NHK’s website and later shared on its social media platforms.

"Around 6:55pm earlier we reported on the NHK's news site and NHK's news disaster prevention application ‘Pattern of North Korean missile launch’ but this was incorrectly issued. J alert has not appeared. I must sincerely apologize,” the news outlet wrote.

The incident comes just four days after a public warning was issued to residents in Hawaii to “seek immediate shelter” from an alleged incoming ballistic missile which had been launched.

That alert was issued in error by the Hawaii Civil Defense, which apologized profusely and sparked debate online about US President Donald Trump’s rhetoric regarding his country’s nuclear capabilities and the threat posed by the North Korean regime.

It's not false alert. It's psychological preparation. War with North Korea is inevitable come 2020.

Xi should had delivered all his old model retired Dong Fong ICBMs to Kim Jong Nuke FOC, and tell him to fire all at Dotard-land ASAP before the lifespan expiry date, or else expired and be greatly wasted. Xi's rocket army already rapidly upgraded to DF-41 DF-17 type hypersonic warheads that Ang Mohs have nothing capable of intercepting. Old models wasted, should mass ship by thousands to Pyongyang, to settle business with USA.

The idea is very simple and practical. China and Russia will be in ultra-perfect positions to zap USA off the map, once Kim Jong Nuke play out the nuke 1st strike, and USA already got dozen plumes of Giant Mushroom Clouds & tremendous fireballs rising. Dozens of millions of vaporized corpses. Things are too easy by then. The superpower status will be served by Kim Jong Nuke on silver platter to Xi.
