On December 18, 2025, Japan’s Defense Ministry announced that two Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF) helicopters were hit with laser beams on consecutive days while flying over Shizuoka Prefecture. The incidents have been officially reported to the Shizuoka Prefectural Police for further investigation.
