North Korea has condemned a Japanese proposal to deploy an Aegis destroyer in the Yellow Sea to prepare
for another possible missile launch from the North.
Japan's Defense Ministry has recommended a number of preparatory measures since the government was
criticized for its response to North Korea's failed ballistic missile test in April. The North had claimed it was
launching a satellite-carrying rocket.
The proposals include deployment of the radar-equipped Aegis warship in waters near North Korea.
The official newspaper of the North Korean Workers' Party, Rodong Sinmun, on Wednesday criticized Japan
saying it was making peaceful space development in North Korea seem like a crime.
The newspaper said Japan's launch of spy satellites and deployment of an Aegis destroyer are a blatant
provocation.
The North Korean leadership has made it clear that it plans to continue long-range missile testing despite
fierce international criticism.
