Going to church every Sunday (or even everyday) does make one a believer of Christ. The very sad news is that many Christians think that just because they have acknowledged that they believe Jesus is the Son of God, born to a virgin, died on the cross and raised after three days, and they have gone to water baptism, they are totally saved and will be reconciled to God when they died no matter what they do now. This is a deception. Once saved always saved is a real deception! We have to repent all the time until the very last days. Take heed what Jesus has said in the Gospel of St. Matthew 7:22-23 that during the last days, many will say to Him, Lord, Lord, we have prophesied in Your name; in Your name we have cast out devils; and in Your name we have done many wonderful works. But Jesus will tell them, "I never knew you; go away from me; you evil doers.
Today, there are too many actors or hypocrites (and perhaps I am one of them) and Jesus just hates hypocrites. Just go to the chapter 23 of the Gospel of St. Matthews which I call this a 'woe' chapter of the Bible and you will read alot on this. God equates hypocrites to vipers! In particular, He addressed His displeasure to the scribes and the Pharisees (who, in today's equivalent are church pastors, elders and deacons). To Jesus, many of these were great hypocrites! They seldom practise what they teach; they take advantage of helpless women and children; they like big titles; they covet positions and want to sit at the seat of high honour; their outward appearance of holiness is the exact opposite of the inner self of self-centeredness, uncleanliness, greed and wickedness.
So, whatever is happening to some of the so-called 'Christians' who may cry out in front of TV screens, making public confession, etc to seek 'forgiveness from man', they will need to give an account to God. In fact, they don't need to account to us, and we too have no right to make any demand from them because the only person that deserves to demand forgiveness is the injured person, and of course God. But more importantly (and I would like to address to only born-again Christians), let us seek Him and repent always and not to become hypocrites or vipers ourselves.
There is only one Court of Justice in Heaven and Jesus is the Judge. Once He has delivered the judgment, there will be no appeal - it's final!
God Bless
