Orangutan = Ah Meng the ape being Singapore Zoo Ambassador (Died)

Looks like the national language is well and alive in this forum.

Actually I learnt the word "asli" from the packaging of Indomee. Bawang asli = original flavour. so orang asli = native/aboriginal/bumi. Haha

Lu (awak, engkau, kami) = You in Bahasa Indonesia (Not Bahasa Melayu)

Commonly used and spoken in Indonesia as an informal Jakarta slang word. Not usually used in most parts of Indonesia except large cities like Medan, Surabaya etc. Not often heard being spoken by Malaysian Malays in Bahasa Melayu except by those who speaks in pidgin Malay (i.e. Chinese). The Chinese Indonesians are almost fully integrated with the local Indonesians whereas the Malaysian Chinese are segregated from the other major races, hence the slight differences. In Singapore, it is quite often used as an informal word but seldom between the Malays amongst themselves. Malay members can correct me if I am wrong.

Just trivial information to those interested.
