I have a second hand experience (of a close drinking buddy of mine) of a story to share.
The wife of my buddy had been smsing a man she befriended on internet chat and they became good friends. They discuss everything about sex tidbits, famliy-related gossips, the state of their sex life with their respective partners etc.
She's a mother of a 1.5yr old daughter. Throughout the working day, they usually exchange 20 over smses joking and flirting with each other and this carried on for 4 yrs. Her husband found out of this intimate friendship between his wife and that other man and he started suspecting that their relationship was more than meets the eye.
The husband loves boozing and with this discovery, he started to drink more and soon, he found a casual lover to share his sorrows with. I gathered the story from what he told me over many beers in his drunken stupor.
He could accuse his wife for what she has been doing but it would mean he would be putting his little daughter and her innocent happiness at risk of being destroyed. He doesn't trust his flirty wife any longer to go home and pretend nothing happened. On normal days, he pushes his suspicions aside, grits teeth and pretends he doesn't know. On other days, his anger and frustration of this betraya seems too much to bear.
He could hire a pte eye to find out more but he fears the outcome of the investigation.
Even if there is really nothing more to the relationship than just the sms flirts, email jokes and God knows what else!! (internet cyber sex, daytime sex in office or outside sex during lunch, who knows what??), he can't tolerate that his 'superficially' dutiful wife has been engaging in this intimate relationship behind his back.
He then entertained revengeful thoughts and conducted sexual flings during lunch and after work with his newly acquired sex buddy.
Seeing what's happening to this family, I can't help but feel sorry for him and angry at the wife (and her man friend) for her selfish, careless, mindless actions. You can say my friend is stupid, cowardly and 'not man enough' to confront the flirting wife for information, but you can't deny the consequences of these thoughtless actions and how they expose relationship to the risk of destruction.
Women talk so often of TRUST, GIVE TRUST, GIVE LOVE, don't break up a happy family, ... but do they realise how their flirts, giggles, harmless chats and friendly gestures can lead men on... So often, u hear of men claiming women are **** TEASERS!!.
It's not just men who are guilty of infidelity these days, it's more the women too.
