Its been almost 1 month, and I am still in tears everytime ....................

Good that he won an oscars for the hateful eight. He’s like the Martin Scorsese equivalent for movie score
They fucked up for not giving him the Oscar for The Mission and then fucked up again for not giving him the Oscar for The Untouchables. 3rd time they got it right.

i bet u didnt give a shyt about him or thought of him in the last couple years just like all the other celebrities trying to jump on the sympathy hype train.

at least i watched a bunch of westerns a few years ago and was obssessed with that song for a bit i think.

what about this woman with the clarinet? clarinet also requires tremendous control of the lungs and air passages.

For a women solo Oboe on this piece, I think Hanna Yeon-Hee Kwak's version is the best. Beautiful Korean girl and super talented with the Oboe.

greatest western ever made
and ecstasy of gold IMHO is the greatest movie theme ever

this scene cool as fuck, gives me goose pimples

I rank Rio Bravo over this movie for my personal best western pic. But The Good. The Bad And the Ugly is certainly in my top 10

what about the guy that made all that inception and interstellar soundtrack?
Zimmer as the name suggests to me is too inconsistent pretty much like rory Gallagher from the 70s talented af but with each album released starts to regress (dont mistake that with frank zappa thats his style lol)...the only second to morricone would be john Barry, and the rest would be third including jerry goldsmith and whoever comes out from the Newman (most talented in showbiz) family

IMO Zimmer's best work is the theme from "The Rock". The patriotic opening can bring a tear to your eyes.

The score for the rock was probably elevated due to the good acting of cage, connery and Harris...zimmer best imho would still be gladiator, however as good as the movie was it feels like a rehash of Spartacus which was directed by kubrik and scored by Alex North

U talking about war movies, then this score for The Rock is no match for Platoon's Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. That is so mournful. Its the perfect score for that movie.

Michael Biehn should be awarded the best underrated actor award. He was fantastic as Johnny Ringo in Tombstone along with Val Kilmer.

also terminator and aliens,
he was the sort of supporting actor that always seems to outshine the leading actors when you rewatch old movies often

He always plays a special force soldier in all his big movies, apart from Tombstone.
