When it comes to making the economy more competitive, the PAP govt always focuses on workers have becoming more productive - be better, cheaper and faster. They never ever bring up making rentals, govt fees, utilities and transport cheaper. What about making housing cheaper so that our workers are better able to compete? The burden of Singapore's competitiveness seems to always rest on the shoulders of workers especially the lower paid workers.

The British govt is taking measures to restructure bonuses and wages to narrow the wage gap to make companies more competitive. Here, our leaders insists that productivity of lower paid workers who are already underpaid have to go up before their wages move up. Our leaders also insist on linking their pay to that of top earners and this link makes it unlikely for our leaders to make Singapore more competitive through a proper and fair wage structure.

There is only so much in the purse and the problem is how the amount is being distributed. It is quite obvious that the keeper of the purse will award themselves much more and leave paltry token sum for the remaining 98.5% of the workforce.

Public service sector like public transport, utility services, health care and the like, cannot be profit centres driven to award top pigs with incentive performance bonus. I can't see the rationale of how the total wages package of the top pigs can
be allowed to escalate by more than 36 times in the last 12 years and compared with that of the 98.5% of coolies having only a meagre 3-5% pa wage adjustment.

The rich and the well connected will get richer and the remaining 95% of the population will get poorer. Foreign workers can survive on S$800/-pm. Can a Singaporean do with 3X of S$800/month. Greed and the greed management, and
their cronies are kept in the establishment to defend the special reward distribution system for the top pigs.

The problem is that people with poor values and contributing poor value are being valued highly.
