I also began my career in the IT sector back in the mid 90s. To be frank let alone the nature of the job, I was really enjoying because I was working with a team of true blue local Singaporeans. Though there were few foreigners, they made up less than 5% and back then, they were mostly Hong Kongers. Hokkien, mandarin, cantonese were our common daily dialect. Have you all ever used dialect to troubleshoot faults? Certainly not there days.

I left the sector in the mid 2006 but rejoined back in late 2008. I didn't realise so much has change since then. I recalled the first day when I joined stepped into this company, I thought I was in the wrong firm as they were mostly indians and another race which I found out later they were the pinoys. I looked around and other than another fella sitting afew seats away from me and the department secretary, surrounding me were all foreigners. The company was expanding since then so I thought there should be more locals joining. I was proven wrong!

The ratio of intake were 1:4 approximate, ie 1 local to 4 foreigners. My lunch gang was rather a pathetic number.. finished counting with 1 hand. I recalled we were teasing each other that some day, we will need to change to an indian or a pinoy name. We even started to call each other by the indian name that we liked to make fun with.

Things began to get worst when more and more foreigners were joining. One of my local colleague who was rather closed with his immediate boss told us that the employment agency that has a business contract with my company were flooding the applications with foreign resumes. So as long as the hiring manager is an indian, 99.9% he will rope in his own people. Same goes to the pinoys. A simple way to prove is to look at the team members. So the indians and pinoys were competing secretly who outshine each other and the poor locals can only stand aside. Everyday, we will have to endure the indians speaking loudly with all the kek-ling ringing tone, or we will have to listen to the tagalog. I find it very irritating that these pinoys tend to talk in an artificial slang manner. Oh yes, they also worship the angmohs so I guess that is part of the reason why angmohs like pinoys?

The current estimated workforce ratio in my company is 4:4:2 ie 40% Indians, 40% Pinoys and 20% Others(including Singaporean hor). One of the 'cannot make it' indian taiji master (yes, indians are taiji masters) left the company early this year. We were quite surprised since with his quality, it is quite impossible for him to job hop. But then we were wrong (again) as we came to realise he was being pulled to join another company where his friend is a senior member there.

It is indeed requires alot of motivation to drag myself to work these days. I really felt that I am a singaporean staying in my own country but working in a foreign land. Imagine an indian or pinoy gives you instruction daily. But I can also tell you these foreigners are not cheap. That indian taiji master is driving a 2L car and staying in a condo at Simei with a kid and wife is not working. The pinoys are also big spenders - Gourmet coffee, restaurants meals (some of them don't believe in eating at hawker centers cause they prefer aircon), taking cab to work and up to date IT gadgets...Furthermore, I am also unsure why we need so many foreign talents. While I am not saying these people are idiots, they are not that fantastic either. I am sure there are lots of locals able to take up their jobs.

So why are they here though they are not that cheap and not that brilliant afterall? I do not know.

The IT sector is doomed, at least to the locals. If nothing is being done to stop these foreigners from coming in, I am sure there are more nightmares to come. I am hoping to stay for another 2 years and call it a quit to this industry so I am now forcing myself to learn an alternate trade to generate another income. I also have to cut all unnecessary expenses to prepare for rainy day as I have no faith to the government to look after the native citizens.</TD></TR><TR><TD></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD class=msgleft width="1%"></TD><TD class=msgopt width="24%" noWrap> Options</TD><TD class=msgrde width="50%" noWrap align=center>Reply</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Look at the Indian and Pinoy FTrash breeding like mad here and treating the MRT like cargo transport - paying one person's fare but taking up a few people's space! This is utter madness!

Reality Check :oIo::oIo::oIo::oIo::oIo:

IN SG
The top 5% get scholarships
The next 10% go into hot faculties such as law and medicine
Then the next 10% go into other faculities in local Universities
Then for the next 30%, you have these IT sinkie trashes who went to Poly and then distance learning courses (called "degrees")

The Sinkies going into IT belongs to the average peasant quality type.
Because they suck in the first place :D
Dumb, low IQ and stupid. :mad:
That is why they got fucked hard in the industry
:D:D
