There is no salary guide for this job as it can range from as low as 1.6k to 10k+ depending on authenticity and company.
IT consultant can be subdivided into presales consultant, solution engineer, solution architect..or simply IT consultant.

Depends what type. If the IT consultant is the type who recommends you to google whenever there is an issue, he should be paying the company instead for renting him a desk and chair.
