Iswaran S: We are doing the best already, for infrastructure. Look who's talking!

and no citizenship be granted to foreigners unless they have a net-value of at least $20 million and donate 10 percent of that to designated charity.

Why would anyone worth $20 million want to emigrate to that shit hole?

With that amount of money, they'd be spoilt for choice.

Re: You Can't Do A Thing

I would be interested to know how many of the better paying jobs are held by sinkees. The PAP could boast that 70 percent of the jobs are held by sinkees but the bulk of the jobs held by sinkees are cleaners, security guards, where's the value?

Re: You Can't Do A Thing

http://therealsingapore.com/content/how-many-jobs-did-irs-really-make

This is what the Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin replied on behalf of the Govt:

“Based on reports by TODAY and Lianhe Zaobao on 10th Nov 2012, the two Integrated Resorts (IRs) directly employ more than 22,000 staff, of which about 70% are locals. MBS hires over 9,400 full time employees, of which 60% are Singaporeans. RWS employs over 13,000 staff, and around 75% are Singaporeans. Singaporeans also take up 80% of total PME positions in RWS.”

Hence, from the reply, we gather that:

IRTotal Staff% of SGSGFT
RWS13,00075%9,7503,250
MBS9,40060%5,6403,760
Total22,40069%15,3907,010

Does it not seem strange to you that minister of manpower has to quote local tabloids in answering questions on hiring numbers of local casinos? Couldn't he check or confirm with the casinos directly?

Or he is conveniently using wrong data from tabloids so that technically he is not lying but merely misled?

The tabloids are part of the PAP.

Re: You Can't Do A Thing

The problem is that he CAN say what he wants and you cannot do anything about it. :(

Just wait and watch what we will do in 2016.

Long time citizens havent exercised thier leg muscles and kicked some butt.

Re: You Can't Do A Thing

The tabloids are part of the PAP.
So why explicitly quote the tabloid in his parliamentary answer? Just in case he got caught out, he can use excuse that the tabloids misled him? And why couldn't he double check with the casinos with a simple email?

And do you seriously believe the bs numbers that 70% of casino staff are locals? Note that almost 50% of Singapore workforce is foreigners or PR. Yet we don't sense that the casinos are going all out to buck the trend.

the largest employer, civil service is largely sinkies, and the military service is 100% Singaporean. So that means the actual employment ratio in private sector has even higher non Singaporean component.

Yeah, right, he's spotted here regularly. It must be his body double then.

You really are a twit. When you're worth billions, you can be spotted regularly in any number of countries. You obviously don't have a clue how the rich lead their lives in order to avoid paying taxes.

Ask yourself why so many millionaires own yachts so they end up being "nowhere" for a certain number of days annually.

Singapore is the yacht now. No need to float aimlessly in dangerous open seas. Quite obvious you have been stranded too long in NZ and cut off from updates from the seriously rich club.

That's crap ...he is saying that the PAP build infrastructure for 6.9 million even though they have no intent to get hit 6.9 million. So, the PAP is okay with poorly utilized MRT lines and empty HDB flats etc? The PAP ministers are sounding more and more stupid. Soon, we will have confer the mother of all stupidity to one of the minister.
