Calgarians are now working hard to welcome them after their narrow escape from the terror of the Taliban.
“We are lucky. Before the Taliban came, two days before, we left Afghanistan,” refugee Nangiayli said.

Nangiayli, whose last name Global News is not reporting to protect the safety of his family in Afghanistan, rushed with his wife and five children to catch a flight out of the danger, finding safety in Canada.
Nangiayli’s family is now staying at a resettlement centre run by the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society. They’re among 100 Afghans the CCIS has taken in over the past few days.

“I came with my wife, three kids and my mother,” refugee Saddat said. “We all feel at home here.”

Calgary has been chosen as a port of entry for Afghan refugees coming to Canada, and about 5,000 will arrive over the coming months for processing before they are relocated to communities around the country.
Thousands fled Afghanistan — while thousands of others remained stranded — following the August withdrawal of U.S. troops and the return of the Taliban to power.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has committed to bring 20,000 Afghan refugees in Canada.
And within the next 3½ months, Calgary is due to receive about 5,000 Afghans who were first evacuated to the United States, according to Fariborz Birjandian.
He is the CEO of the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society and the national co-chair of the Afghan Resettlement Operation.
"We have made preparations to have them to come to Calgary, stay in quarantine, go through all the paperwork, then help with immigration, with COVID," Birjandian told the Calgary Eyeopener on Monday.
"And [then] they're sent to 35 communities across the country."

Why Calgary was chosen

Calgary was chosen as a port of entry, Birjandian said, for factors that include its readiness, availability, expertise and living space.
Thousands of Syrian refugees settled in Calgary and its surrounding areas about three years ago, he said, and it required strong partnerships with communities, school boards and the city.
That network-building experience is likely a big reason why the city was chosen.
Volunteers who will be helping the process this time include members of Calgary's own Afghan community and veterans, Birjandian said.

Upon arriving, the Afghans will be provided with accommodation for a two week-quarantine, encouraged to keep active, and helped with health-care and paperwork for immigration.
"These people are coming basically with nothing," Birjandian said. "This is very complex."

Refugees also arriving in Calgary to live

There are also Afghan refugees coming to Calgary to make it their home, and 60 have already arrived, Birjandian said.
They were among the first 3,700 people who were evacuated directly from Kabul to Toronto, where they quarantined for two weeks.
On Tuesday, Birjandian said, Calgary expects to receive 40 more.
"They were lucky to go to that airport in Kabul and get on the plane and come. They left a lot of loved ones behind," Birjandian said.
"We have quite good human resources available in Calgary, and also logistically, with the hotels, with the airport, everything.
"[It] makes it, I think, very welcoming environment for these people."

It's obvious PAP has never visited Afghanistan before. These people will offer strangers a share of their meal even when travelling.
Historically, Afghan was conquered and colonised by the greeks under alexander. But over time, these greek cities wete overwhelmed by other invaders mostly from the steppes and eventually by arab warlords.
Under Tang dynasty, chinese nearly ventured into this territory but were defeated by arabs in 751AD and chinese retreated.
The Chinese prisoners gave arabs the know how to make papers, and this quickly spread all over including to Europe.
It is too early to judge taliban II gomen.but you can predict it to fail if they put interest of religion and clergy first instead of the interest of their own people.

I believe it was doing very well in Afghanistan up till they helped Osama Bin Laden with the 9-11 attacks.

They will do well if they mind their own business and keep their influence and operations to within their own country please.

Nothing new under the sun. Libtard countries always do this.

Tell-tale signs: men are not like men, women are not like women, low birth rates, LGBT/minorities hold sway over politics.

The previous talibans before they were kicked out by bush were more enthusiastic.
The current ones are more sober.

It's an open secret that many moslem cabbies support the taliban simply because they share the same wahabi sunni islam as the taliban. The only people that hate the taliban are often those who have once lived under the taliban's rule. Just look at the huge number of afghans who are fleeing the country. They aren't even going to resist the taliban occupation.
