It is lying if the things he states are found to be be incorrect or wrong. One does not expect so serious a matter to be taken lightly and when his statement and the CV of his son do not match, then someone is lying. If not the father, then the son. But if the father in taking the son's CV as gospel truth, then he must stand by it.
But he is definitely not being a straight shooter. The responses of father and son do not address the issues raised by netizens.
