Is this normal? Rude as hell grab driver and insanely jobsworthy with zero prerogative to behave in such a way.

We got a grab premium from Changi to Killiney which sent a Noah - huge car, right? Three people and three cases, an easy and greaseproof fit into the car. The driver kicked up a massive fuss about how we didn’t book the right service to have three large baggage instead of two - I made a brief remark to him about how the car was huge so it should be okay to bring one extra suitcase in lieu of two missing passengers - so the driver decided to rate us 1 star and cancel because of ‘bad attitude’. Mind you, I loaded the cases into the car myself before he unloaded and cancelled the trip. Is this a normal thing? Are taxi drivers so pedantic and ridiculous that they cancel grab trips at the slightest scratch to their ego? Would grab do anything about this if I reported it? I’m baffled and I’m sorry if this came off too angry it’s 1am…

PHV drivers do not see themselves as drivers; they see themselves as volunteers.

Why do they see themselves as volunteers? They don't want to admit that they are no different from taxi drivers. They see themselves as equal, not subservient. This helps to maintain their pride even though in reality they are just taxi drivers.

When a person addresses you as Sir, the demarcation is clear - he is here to serve you, and you're his paymaster. When he addresses you as uncle, he sees himself as a volunteer and pretends that he is not earning money from you. In other words, subconsciously he despises his job, and by extension, himself.​

Grab phv drivers are mostly sh!tty people. They are low class poor SES who are arrogant and cannot accpet reality that they are no better than sedan chair carriers of ancient china. They have no money to buy a car so resort to hire purchase and phv to pay off the huge loan interests. And most think rheir cars are theirs when if they default the loan companies repo immediately. Sad farks as u can see their sh!tty attitude and theri road manners. Some are so pathetic that they tried to hide the blue label of shame by tinting the rear windows etc. I have seen mercs and even bmw with such labels. No money want to how lian. Whenever i see phv with the shameful blue labels i literally avoid these sedan chair carriers. In ancient china sedan chair carriers are rhe lowest ranked peasants hence called balls carriers.hahhah
Anyway they are doimed and they know it. Soon robotaxis and driveless cars in next 2 years woild make these arrogant idiots redundant . Even grab ceo gave a sarcastic warning recently that their jobs is at stake.

I think pax nothing wrong. If book 7sit with 4 pax and 4 luggage is reasonable.
But if 4 pax 4 luggage book just grab then cannot.

Indeed, they are no different from cab drivers. But in their delusional minds, they think they are just helping out others!

The app tells them to go to a place to pickup passenger and then the destination to drop off. And they get paid. How’s that different from a cab driver with the difference being the communication channel?
