SINGAPORE - HEALTH Minister Khaw Boon Wan told reporters today that he would be 'happy to stand as an SMC (Single Member Constituency)' in the upcoming elections.

He made the comment at a community event in Woodlands this morning.

Mr Khaw currently represents Sembawang GRC, which is one of the largest constituencies with six members. His team won the constituency with the biggest margin in a GRC contest in 2006's General Elections. In that election, Singapore Democratic Party had contested Sembawang GRC.

PM Lee has convened the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee, a sure indicator that elections are around the corner.

You must be out of touch with politics here and the world around. PM is least likely to lose his seat. John Howard served his seat for 3 decades and was OZ longest serving PM. He lost his seat when it people felt he overstayed his tenure.

Better stick to posting articles on HDB prices.

And does theDoors seriously want to take on PM Lee in Teck Ghee without the Cheng San outliers? Finally there would be a chance of forfeiting a deposit.

PM cannot do a single ward contest... its not about him winning but maintaining it..
When he is doing his PM duties (eat wind) who will help him cover his MP job?
