YES, I was a People's Action Party (PAP) Member of Parliament.

But I'm no yes man, declared Dr Tan Cheng Bock, 71, former MP for Ayer Rajah.

As the first person to indicate his interest in running as a candidate in the coming presidential election, he told The New Paper yesterday: "If the issue at stake is wrong, irrespective of my party or the government, I will tell them."

Why is a doctor selling pratas?

Actually I have no idea who is tan cheng bok. If you think he is good, then I will vote for him as I trust your recommendation that he does not sell oily pratas. However, first, who is he, what did he do, is he currently selling tasty non-oily pratas and what will he do if elected? Will he give up his prata job and be a full-time President? he was a medical dr as well as mp. i think he was mp for west coast if not wrong. he always speaks him mind against pap ridiculous policies. one of the rare brave mps to be around.

but his quitting fr political scene co-incides with the PE and that make it a bit suspicious whether the pap's hand is in control or not.

I knew it! He has perfect credentials for being a President: He is a GP, a very good medical doctor, does not make oily pratas, grow orchids and keep koi. Frankly with all these talents, he is wasted as a MP.
