Every time when the MIW sense that their position is in peril, they like to warn of the precarious situation that Singapore is in. In the mid 80s, there was the recession, then I recalled another one in 2006 (IIRC) where they also warned of severe consequences if there was no continuity and stability politically. That's another way of saying "vote us or else...."

Case in point, Singapore is always in transition, always vulnerable, always under threat, always on the verge of the next economic collapse. Come to think of it, PAP as a whole is a bloody jinx. We should change govt. No wonder our birth rate falls, who has the mood for such thing when constantly living with an axe over the head?

Really? How come no news on the call for National Referendem on the White Paper? Most of the changes they are trying to make were caused by the increase in population in recent years. The same old shit will happen a few years down the road when the population increases again. Didn't they mentioned that inflation was a worldwide issue previously. Tharman said high COEs contributed how many percent of local inflation? How about GST, ERPs and high property prices? Not forgetting high stamp duty for property purchase.
