I must say they better review how they choose their top managers and directors...one charged for getting blow jobs and whats nots and now another getting his hands dirty on iPad and in between we have the hilarious spectacle of SCDF men running away from the riotors with their hands up!!

A director of technology of the Singapore Civil Defence Force was charged on Thursday with two counts of misappropriating iPads.

Jeganathan Ramasamy, 62, allegedly committed criminal breach of trust of the $939 Apple iPad2 on two occasions in September 2011 by converting them to his own use. He is said to have given one to his daughter, and sold the other. He had obtained the two iPads from NCS. The iPads, meant for use in testing mobile applications, were delivered to his office at Ubi Avenue.

He is represented by Mr Sanjiv Rajan. The case will be mentioned on Nov 16. Bail of $10,000 was offered. His passport has been impounded.

With his salary, he could well afford to buy 20 ipads.

What is wrong with this guy?

You should have added a "guess which race?" to the thread title.

and wtf is this mama gonna say in his defence?

i just "borrowed" the ipads to use and lent them to my daughter for her facebook?

hahahahahaha ....CBT or at very least misappropriation lor

Shouldn't have arrested him or impounded his passport... that's racist and disrespectful.

It was a spontaneous incident and there was police brutality.

He had shown restraint and didn't also misappropriate sanitary pads.

Nominations Details
Award Category: CIO of the Year
Country/Region: Singapore
Industry: Public Sector
Company Name: Singapore Civil Defence Force
Nominee: Jeganathan RAMASAMY, Director Technology
Jeganathan is responsible for the policy development, system development, implementation, maintenance
and readiness of all info-communications technology (ICT) systems within SCDF. This includes emergency
command, control and communications systems, warning systems, corporate administrative systems,
eServices and Web applications systems, network systems and info-security systems. SCDF is a uniformed
organisation providing ambulance, fire fighting and emergency response services across Singapore. This
means that Jeganathan’s initiatives have a great social impact on the four million-strong population,
improving the effectiveness of emergency services and thus saving more lives. He has garnered 30 years of
vast public and private sector experience that includes a career in the Singapore Armed Forces and the
SCDF.

Under his leadership, two of SCDF’s key ICT systems, the Fire Safety Online Processing System (FISOPS)
and Crisis Information Management System (CIMS) were awarded CIO Asia’s CIO Awards in 2004.
The Medical Protocol System (MPS) was integrated with the Computer-Aided Dispatch system in SCDF’s Operations Centre in 2008. The objective of the MPS was to enable the operations centre to systematically capture the medical
condition of patients using a template of medical questions, known as protocols, from the main complaints
of the caller. The MPS would then enable operators to provide useful pre-arrival instructions for certain specific
emergency medical conditions to aid the caller before the ambulance arrived. According to SCDF, the MPS
positions Singapore as the first country in Southeast Asia to provide medical aid via the telephone.

Jeganathan has used technologies like HDS dynamic provisioning and virtualization to enhance these systems. Few initiatives like consolidated and centralised enterprise storage has also helped reduce cost and increase the efficiency of the critical national systems.

This guy must have crossed somebody important. Charged for such a trivial amount and matter.

Why never cover up? Who is the snitch? Will he be sent to India also with the rioters?
