That Good parents breed good children?

And Bad parents breed bad children?

And Weirdo parents breed weirdo children?

I mean on a general basis, is this true?

Nature and Nurture! How do u define good and bad kids? Think David Attenborough will be interested in this topic.. hahaha!

Bad as in going astray in their lives, living in sin, living in a life or crime, in and out of police station or jail.

Are the offsprings of the Lee family considered a good breed?

Wow... that's a bad kid indeed! Hahahaha..
Just like children of divorced parents generally speaking, end up divorcing their spouse too.

I have seen a few of my friends from such single parent family end up divorcing their spouses.

inheritability in offspring is a matter of ongoing debate. But I think you present your question in an oversimplified way.

What does good or bad mean when it comes to parenting? One persons good parenting is another persons bad parenting. As a result, good kids can come from bad parents and bad kids can come from good parents. You have to be more well-defined than that.

But if you want a general answer, it is yes, they do inherit a lot of traits from the parents. How they express those traits is down to the environment they are raised in.

You talk like my GP tutor in JC days.

Not really.

But can we also say that if parents have schizophrenia, the children most probably would develop schizophrenia too?
a good number of diseases run in families.

schizophrenia as a layman I have no personal experience with, but I've heard that it runs in families. Baldness is a very good example though. If the mum has the baldness gene, there's a good chance she will pass it on to her sons. Hemophilia too.

are you specifically concerned with schizophrenia?

D. Attenborough will not care about this. He's interested only in the natural world. I don't think I've seen him do a documentary on humans anytime.

Nope. But I know of a senior relative with schizophrenia. I suspect his son who is around my age group is developing schizophrenia.
The thing is a lot of the studies can find a link, but the causality is still open to question. IQ in families for example is it because of they way they teach the kids in a certain way or is it inborn. Plenty of back and forth.

Short answer is that some have very well-defined genetic links, like extra toes and fingers, but others do not.

Well if you've got a specific concern, it will be easier to answer. Like if the parents are nice people, will the kids be nice or are you concerned whether your sons will have big cocks maybe?

High percentage according to the gene pool or say- Hereditary! Alittle bit of here n there from the parents! The chromosomes hold the keys to the mysteries of hereditary!
