If only gov. willing to lift the 3/4 tank rule. All the petrol company will automatic have real pressure to reduce the price . Want to promote FREE trade why want to impose this stupid rule.
Singapore is the only country in the world bane their own citizen getting cheaper fuel from cross border. Other country system is to bane vehicle from coming in to pump cheaper fuel.
Really 1st world system can put in Guinness World of record.

Bro...they cannot life the 3/4 rule because one they did that....they will lose the tax money. The government now is happily taxing us, if everyone go over causeway to pump...who will lougi???

Yes gov. income will be less. But the is advantage like
1. Singapore citizen will getting subsidies fuel from Malaysia.
2. Can free up land with less petrol station other purpose.
3. Less hazard and danger less petrol station(eg. terrorist can easily burn petrol station)
4. Can reduce manpower in ICA no need check the fuel gauge before leaving Singapoe and clearence will be faster.

Gov will not be happy with less income. No advantage to them.

1. Singapore Citizen get subsidies fuel from malaysia, No adv to Gov.
2. Free up land with less petrol station, means less rental and tax income for Gov.
3. Less hazard and danger? Nah, they be more happy to put security tax.
4.Reduce manpower in ICA. More car going in and out custom, need more manpower to check the car for others ban items.

Even Malaysia got petrol hike despite the fact that they are an oil producing country. What about Singapore which has no resources but is big on refineries? If base price already high, you cannot afford to lower down the price further.

So the solution is looking at alternative form of fuel and improved public transport system.

Malaysia had to increase prices because they were SUBSIDISING & world prices were going through the roof. They have been reducing the prices quickly when the world prices went down. UMNO has got to buy votes lah.

Sporean where got prices go down? Maybe only during the election year.

Even if they use alternative forms of energy, you can bet that it will be the PAP who will be selling it to the public via NTUC or some GLC for a fat profit. Good example is public transport which is a very, very profitable business.

Shit just missed the extra discounts. I should have waited until today to top up to enjoy the extra discounts.

I'm curious why amendment to pump prices are made without prior notice to consumers. For those working with the petrol companies, how do you determine when to reduce pump prices? - amount of stock available, shape of the moon, etc?

Bro,

Our govt take a cut of 0.40 cent/litre of petrol. You think they want motorists to go across to get cheaper petrol and cut off revenue for themselves.. ? Petrol is biggy business for them you know..
