A man in Kuala Terengganu was recently brought to trial for raping and impregnating his 12-year-old daughter.

  • Berita Harian reported that he was charged at the Sessions Court for two counts of rape, but pleaded not guilty.
    
    The first count alleged that the 41-year-old raped his daughter around 3am to 4am between mid-July to early August at a house in Kuala Terengganu.
    
    Meanwhile, the second count accused him of repeating the offence between 3am and 4am on 17 August at the same location.
• While sitting for her Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), the victim felt nauseous and vomited.
  A doctor's check-up later revealed that she was already seven weeks pregnant.

  • According to Astro Awani, the girl's enraged mother filed a police report against her husband.
    
    He was apprehended by the police on Thursday, 12 September.
• If found guilty, the man could be charged under Section 376B of the Penal Code for incest

  • The maximum penalty is a 30-year imprisonment and 10 counts of whipping.
  • The trial will resume on Friday, 25 October and he was not allowed bail.
