A FREELANCE religious teacher was brought to court on Friday for molesting a housing agent.

Misti Talimin, 51, allegedly used an egg to rub on the chest of the 42-year-old woman at a flat in Woodlands on Dec 16 2010.

Misti, who is represented by a lawyer, faces a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine upon conviction.

No caning will be imposed for those aged 50 and above.

A pre-trial conference will be held on July 18.

I remember a relative of mine getting conned by the "magic stone" trick in the 70s.
The stone is placed in a plate and some lemon juice is squeezed onto the stone and it moves. Somehow, it was translated to cure all kind of diseases. I think my relative paid afew hundred dollars for it.
Saw him 2 years ago at a wedding, still looks and behaves like a dum dum.

Rubbing the egg on the body is actually a method some old folks use to detect 'moh tan' as chinese physician call it. It is characterize by prolong high fever.
I've had it as a kid. If you had 'moh tan', chinese physician's medicine is very effective against it. A western doctor will send you to hospital and put you in ice bath.....

This is what I've heard from my Malay friends. Bomohs use eggs as spell-carriers. Whenever a spell is cast, it is transported using an egg. If it is accidentally seen by other people on the way to the victim, it will shatter.
