Alleged witnesses of Anwar ‘sex’ video held at Malaysia-Thai border

OoiPERMATANG PAUH, April 20 — Police detained a Pakatan Rakyat (PR) official and two alleged witnesses from Thailand brought in to expose the “actor” behind the alleged sex video involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when the trio entered at the Malaysia-Thai border, coalition officials say.

PKR’s Sungai Acheh candidate Badrul Hisham Shahrin told a ceramah in Kubang Semang here last night that PR secretariat chief Shabrimie Sidek and the two Thais were stopped and detained by the police yesterday afternoon at Bukit Kayu Hitam.

The ceramah was supposed to feature the two witnesses involved in the making of the sex video but due to their arrest, only a recording of a phone call to Shabrimie was played.

Shabrimie had in the recording said they were arrested immediately after passing through immigration at Bukit Kayu Hitam.

He also said all of them were taken to a police station in Kedah and detained there.

As of last night, Badrul Hisham claimed that the trio have yet to be released.

“The two witnesses were involved in the making of the sex video intended to frame Anwar,” said the candidate popularly known as Chegubard.

He told the crowd that the witnesses saw how an Anwar lookalike was given a “makeover” and had to put on makeup to make him look exactly like the PKR leader.

He said the video was taken in Thailand.

“They have decided to reveal the truth behind the video and agreed to come here,” he said.

He alleged that the arrest was politically motivated as it would have revealed the “dirty tactics used” to discredit and smear Anwar.
