Irrefutable proof that you are merely renting from HDB, you never ever own a flat!

The propaganda is amazing though, give credit where it's due.

All the happy couples, families, children, smiles everywhere, warm and fuzzy feelings. :roflmao:

Lawrence Wong, as Minister for National Development, clarified that 99-year HDB leases mean flats will return to the state, with value eventually reaching zero. He emphasized that not all old flats qualify for SERS (Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme), urging buyers to be realistic, avoid speculative purchases of old resale flats, and not expect automatic, continuous appreciation

  • The 99-Year Reality: At the end of the 99-year lease, HDB flats are returned to the state, meaning the value will indeed fall to zero.
  • Not All Flats Get SERS: Only about 4% of HDB flats have been selected for SERS since 1995, as it is only for sites with high redevelopment potential, not as a blanket bailout for aging flats.
