Chitchat Iphone 7 scammer on carousel

Apparently he was scammed by this guy in carousell, promising him that today he will collect his iphone 7 plus jet black 128gb and sell him at $1460, but required him to pay an upfront deposit of $200 to secure the set. He told him that he will forward his NRIC and driving license as a assurance and so he went ahead and transfer $200 to him.Eventually this guy went MIA. Therefore my brother went to make police report and upon searching his nick in carousell, realise that many people also kena scam as well.They form a Whatsapp group chat and many people including my brother were scam a total of SGD9740 + RM1500, there is this Thailand guy kena scam the most (Total of SGD4610) !!!
