Notice that Apple Corp is begining to be like 'microshit' with their software updates & product upgrade, what is the huge difference between Ipad 2 and the NEW Ipad? or their software updates for IOS or Itunes?? You buy the Ipad2 not so long ago, and now, they launch the NEW IPAD.

Iphone is now 4s, nothing much different except for SIRI!, they have nothing innovative to offer anymore, and is becoming like "microshit", we all have became familar with, their crappy updates & products & plenty of marketing hype.

apple to me is a pack of rubbish...using old technology, repackaging and marketing and sell at exorbitant prices!

Microsoft Windows Phone OS still has a single digit % market share after all the stupid marketing hype... such as this:

Also, Microsoft is going to shove the fucked up Metro UI into the throats of desktop users in Windows 8.
Good luck getting good sales with that!

It was quite smooth for me. I updated directly from the phone's software upgrade under settings. It took me just a couple tens of minutes.

Also you can now delete photos from photo stream. To be honest, the best way to improve battery life is to go to notification setting and turn off as many unnecessary notifications as possible. Somehow many applications set notification as standard and this is very power intensive, especially if you spend long hours in a none wifi area.

Siri in Japanese seems selectable but I don't speak Japanese so cannot test it.

Photos on Photo Stream not able to be deleted used to be a problem I faced. I had to use an application to delete them. This is now fixed.

The phone now works cooler and the battery life is definitely much longer. This has also been confirmed by many other users.

Have done that, but my main grouse is that all the apps one open remains open & have to close those individually, this is one of the power drainer, the other would be the older the phone, the faster the battery drain. I have tested this old iphone, the 3gs, but removing the SIM card, only play games like "Cut the rop", "Where is my water", the battery drain down to 70% to 60% within 10 mins of play. With the SIM card on, tapping apps like CNN, BBCnews to read & play the two games mentioned, 40% in 10 mins. Just wondering If I change the battery, will the battery consumption improve?

Did you turn off Cellular Data to Off? The cost for a new battery should be about $35 thereabouts. Obviously your 3GS battery is not 100% and may require a new one or you can buy an external battery.

Yes I was told the replacement battery, is around $35, the phone is couple of years old, it was given to me (:-, the previous owner was a very heavy user, I have turbed the cellular data to off, one more thing, the phone gets hot, when one play games for sometime, especially "where is my water"..

I am testing the phone, making decision for a next upgrade, my NOKIA's is not working well & has aged, I am not moving to their 'microshit' OS phones, yucks!. I have bad expeeriences withe Koreans phones ( LG & SAMSUNG), so that is out, what is left is Blackberry or the iPhone.;)

Not necessary to change as this phone works pretty well. Wait for the iPhone 5 or next gen smartphones.
