Yes, you are right the bank interest rate on deposits is more than that on normal saving accounts. There are various types of deposits i.e. Fixed, Recurring, Call deposits. Each comes with different interest rates and features. You can check with POSB Bank as they have very good customer care representatives who will explain these terms in more detail.
