Honey Sweet Potato (Ubi Cilembu) is a specialty sweet potato native to the Cilembu village and nearby areas in West Java, Indonesia. It is known for its soft and sticky texture with a sweet honey-like glaze when roasted or baked.

Honey Sweet Potato (Ubi Cilembu) is best suited for cooked applications such as roasting or baking. Boiling and steaming are not recommended because the natural sweet honey flavor is lost. It can be used to make chips, cakes and jams. However, simply baked or roasted and served while hot is particularly appetizing.

Moreover, it contains a high level of fiber, vitamins (A, B and C), minerals (Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron and Phosphorus) and antioxidants.

Health benefits:

Improve blood circulation and prevent symptoms of anemia
Promote gut health
Lower blood sugar level
Help lose weight
Prevent cancer

Bought from wet market this morning to try. Surprise by how nice it was. Better than those at Donki.

Nowadays sweet potatoes mostly not sweet at all.
Ever eaten in the 70s a type called Yam sweet potatoes, skin & inside all purple, it's the real deal, even better than the Jap purple sweet potatoes.

You go try this Cilembu variety. It's really the best. Tomorrow I go market and buy more and roast in oven. Then peel and store in fridge and eat a bit each day over the week.
