Why doesn't the opposition parties step up and make this a high profile issue?

They should hold press conferences on this and attack the government. Show sinkees that they are fighting for them. It is such timidity that makes them look like imbeciles.
If the local press doesn't want to show up, then seek out the international press.

Go to Speakers' Corner to deliver the speech and demand the government to take actions.

The opposition politicians need to step up or face oblivion. They need to show up more and demonstrate that they are siding with sinkees against a government that is pro-foreigners.
