Indian prefer English or Hindi or Tamil?

Singapore:
An Indian-origin minister in Singapore has emphasised the importance of Tamil language as a mother tongue, underscoring the need to introduce children to one of the four official languages in the prosperous city-state.

The Singapore education system encourages mother tongue as a second language in schools which include Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and other main Indian languages as well as Tamil, Malay and Chinese (Mandarin).

"We need to ensure our children have opportunities to be constantly exposed to Tamil language," said Indranee Rajah, minister in the Prime Minister's Office.

Fucking hell. Every Tamil knows Hindi is replacing Tamil as the official language.

There is no national language in the Republic of India.[4][5][6][failed verification] However, article 343(1) of the Indian constitution specifically mentions that "The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script. The form of numerals to be used for the official purposes of the Union shall be the international form of Indian numerals,"[6] while article 343(2) allowed for the continuation of English as an official language for another 15 years and 343(3) gave the parliament the power to provide for the use of English language after this period.[5
