The Indians of Singapore are so proud of having so many Indian MP’s, however it seems like none of you are proud of your fellow Indian on the street, it shows in your silence! Is the ivory tower too high for you to see the pain an ordinary Indian feels at such frequent discrimination and marginalisation? Or are these signals that you are distancing yourselves from the Indian community of Singapore?

Big mouths like Indranee rajah and Inderjit singh - why you so quiet? How bout Vivian Bala? Shanmugam? Are you Indian enough?

Viv is half a neh, technically. A chindian. Neither here nor there.

I remember when the racists ex-mp and ex-convict made his racist comment about darkness in little India, it was Chiam See Tong who I believe was a Chinese that immediately rose and complained. The next day, the Singapore Indian MPs was pilloried for their silence. The the then PM, GCT explained a a few days later that the senior most Indian Rep in Parliament, ex- cabinet minister and ex-DPM Jayakumar was about to raise his golden arse when Chiam See Tong beat him to the bell. As we all know that Jayakumar is a health and fitness nut who lives jogging and roller blading while Chiam's health though was not well known was surely not a fitness fanatic. Again we have a similar situation and on this occasion, Malay female MP has stood front and centre and did not mince her words. I can excuse Indranee Rajah and Viv B as they both have divided identities but what about the rest. Don!t tell me that their arses were just as heavy. Disgraceful lot.

Brother Confuseous, I am sorry but I have to disagree with you stating that the Indians here are frequently discriminated and being marginalised.
On the contrary the Indians in Singapore, ie those born, raised, schooled and working here, are all very highly educated and many hold top jobs in the Civil Service. Judges, Magistrates, senior SAF and police officers, proffessors, lawyers, doctors, pilots, businessmen and many many more. These high positions are held by many Indians. We even have Indian politicians both from the opposition and the proposition.
Our schools produce top students who are Indians. This has happened so many times. We have good Indian authors, writers and philosophers here.
Look at the way Indian festivals are celebrated here. The authorities even close up roads to facilitate the smooth celebration of Thaipusam. The motoring public may be inconvenienced by these religious processions but accept it in their stride, as they respect the fact that the Indians are part of our country.
I have many Indian friends who frequent Chinese 7th Moon Festivities in August, attend Chinese weddings and even funerals. I have even seen Indian boys (for that matter Malay boys too) taking part in Lion Dances.
So many Malays, Chinese and others have Indian husbands or wives. All this are clear indicators that the Indians are accepted always and have become a part and parcel of Singapore.

If they are half breeds then wtf are they doing in GRCs? Arent they supposed to represent the Indians?

I can excuse Indranee Rajah and Viv B as they both have divided identities but
