The step below is referring to the PWP.

"The step has irked India as the new law does not give India a preferential treatment incorporated in the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CECA) between the two countries, operational since 2005. This stance by the Singapore Government is expected to affect Indians working as middle-level managers, executives and technicians."

Shouldn't have signed that one-sided pseudo-FTA in the first place. Too bad the PAP govt is a bitch of the globalists.

Nothing of worth will be lost. In fact, it may herald a much-needed spring cleaning.

Cerebra Integrated Technologies (CITL), India’s leading total IT solutions provider, has signed a share purchase agreement with Singapore based Enviro-Hub Holdings Ltd (SGX Listed) to acquire 100% of its wholly owned subsidiary Cimelia Resource Recovery Pte Ltd, Singapore. Cerebra proposes to invest approx $20 million (Rs 110 crore) for the proposed acquisition.

With this deal, Cerebra will become one of the first global Indian MNCs in the area of waste arising from electronics and electrical equipment (WEEE). Globally, this industry is estimated to be around $20 billion currently. E-waste is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. In India the market is estimated to be $2 billion and is growing at approx 25% y-o-y.

Announcing the transaction, V Ranganathan, Managing Director, CITL, said, “We will be amongst the first global Indian MNC in this sector with one of the finest e-waste facilities in the world at Singapore. This acquisition will also help us to build one of the largest facilities in Bangalore, India spread across 1,00,000 sq feet on 10 acres of land. Through the new plant and alliance, Cerebra will be better equipped to refurbish, reuse and recycle e-waste. It will get an entry in international market, through Cimelia’s global network and clientele.”

Fons Krist, Executive Director of Cimelia, added, “Working with Cerebra is an exciting development for us and this attests to the strong corporate brand name that Cimelia currently enjoys in the global E-Waste management and PGM (Platinum Group Metal) Refining. “

Through this deal, Cerebra proposes to acquire the technology, know-how and global expertise that Cimelia has garnered over about nine years in the electronic waste management industry. Cimelia also brings with it strong client relationships with global giants.

The proposed plant will be set up with an investment of $10 million (approx Rs 55 crore) at Bangalore. Cerebra’s experience in hardware will enable it to get more value out of the e-waste. CITL first re-furbishes e-waste and sells the computers/mobiles in the second hand market. All other e-waste will be processed at its proposed end-to-end integrated e-cycling plant spread over approx 1,00,000 square feet. CITL assures data security and certifies the e-waste collected to be “clean” from a data standpoint before the metal separation process takes place. CITL earns from the Precious metals and other metals that are recovered.

India generates 2.5 million tonnes of waste a year of which Mumbai contributes 82,000 tonnes followed by 75,000 tonnes from
Bangalore. The government has also made it compulsory to set up a collection and disposal mechanism for e-waste. The implementation of this law by the government would be good for both the environment and the e-waste recycling industry

What did we got out of the FTA?? Is it worth flooding our cuntry with Ah Nehs???

To Sum up...S'pore should:

1) Rectify Article 9.3.3 - To include academic, means and economic testing, etc, so as to reduce the no. of "redundant" immigrants who eat into and becomes a budren to our resources, and avoid overcrowding, etc.

2) Reinforce Article 9.3.4 - LHL did the right thing to stop the no. of Indian schools in S'pore at 4. Indians are not entitled to schools, housing, hospitalisation or whatsoever social benefits for S'poreans.

3) Rectify Article 9.6 - This clause should be removed entirely for DPs and LTVPs.

DPs and LTVPs should not be allowed to work here. These people are 'dependents' on the EP who are sent by the Indian companies who do business in S'pore. They can accompany and stay, and study but should not be allowed to work. We cant have grandpas, wives, children living and working here in S'pore.

We should also impose tax levies or dependency ratios on these DPs and LTVPs who are working here. Currently, there is none.

S'pore should review to prevent Indians from being too dominant a force in certain sectors, eg: banking and IT, which is vital to our country's national security and defense. We can have Chinese and Pinoys IT engineers to counter balance them.

Divide and conquer, is what the British did when they rule India.

WHAT FELLOW ORDINARY S'POREANS CAN HELP TO DO TO HELP OURSELVES:

1) Raise the HDB and Private condos rentals....3 room HDB to SGD 6k for Indian FTs. This helps to raise the cost of entry into S'pore, and prevent lowballing of wages and let our Indian FT friends feels the pinch opf the cost of living. Else they can go back to the slums in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.

PLS HELP SPREAD THE WORDS...

2) Enact laws to impose racial quota to rental markets for HDB and condos. This is to prevent enclavements of Indians in a particular block or area. This is to prevent them from breaking our social-fabric. If they want to come, they have got to assimilate into us, and not that us with them. This will break their "Indianness" which they are so proud of to the extent that they are looking down on our Spore Indian bros.

The only thing I think that's wrong is that we are expecting to solve this with laws and regulations. How about this ? Let's publish the racial composition of various service organizations. Then people can decide if they want to do business with them or not.

At the rate that they are producing, they will become the majority race in Singapore in ten years' time. As it is, I think they already from one quarter to a third of the population. Why don't the Japs pay them to help clean up Fukushima and do mankind a favour?
